TITLE: SECURITY GUARD (PART-TIME), MONTEREY CORNERSTONE COMMUNITY CENTER REPORTS TO: ProgramDirector LOCATION: 2100 Monterey Avenue HOURS: Up to 18 Hours/Week; Non-Exempt JOB SUMMARY: The primary function of this position is employee and visitor control as well as performing patrol duties to ensure the safety of the participants, facility, its employees and assets. MAJOR DUTIES: Verify each visitors authorization by checking ID cards and logging visitor entry and exit to facility Notify point-of-contact of visitor arrivals and answer questions in a courteous and professional manner. Keep detailed records/track and perform other related security tasks as assigned by Program Director or Assistant Site Coordinator. Answer alarms and investigate disturbances. Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences. Facilitate daily participant sign in/sign out procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED. NYS 8 hour Security Training Certificate & 16 hour on the Job Training Certificate preferred. Must have experience working with youth. One or more years of related security or military/law enforcement experience. Practical hands-on experience in customer service type environment, involving significant contact with employee and visitor populations. Must present a professional image at all times. Must be a motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills, and the capability of making significant contributions in a team-based environment.
